Who Can Participate

Riding Develops Abilities (RDA) Bundoora invites all children from 3 years to adults with varying degrees of physical and mental disability to participate (for example, those with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, down syndome, behavioural disorders, etc). Participants of the RDA come varying social backgrounds.

RDA Bundoora is most appropriate for people (1) who the instructors believe will benefit from the program (2) are able to sit on a horse with minimal support and (3) are able to follow very simple instructions. The program seeks to address physical and mental impairments through a number of different activities and approaches; it is tailored to each individual so that the program becomes ‘participant-centred care’.
